Instructions
1. Measure the solar height by projection method

3. Measure the shadow of the pole under the sun
Pull the angle plate and bracket out of the chassis and replace them with upright poles, place the instrument on the level ground under the sun, and rotate the chassis so that the "00" indicator is aligned with the south direction, Read the azimuth angle and length of the shadow through the angle ruler and length ruler on the chassis (to measure the length of the shadow more accurately, after reading the azimuth angle of the shadow, rotate the chassis to make the shadow coincide with the length ruler, so that the measured length is more accurate).
Select several time points in a day, measure the shadow length and azimuth of each time point according to the above method and fill in the table.

To get the height of the sun, draw a horizontal line segment equal to the shadow on the blank paper, then draw a line segment equal to the exposed part of the pole from one end of the line segment, and connect the other two ends of the two line segments to form a diagonal line.
